International Women’s Day 2026

International Women’s Day 2026 cover

Imagine a gender equal world, diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where our differences are valued and celebrated. This International Women’s Day, we join the global movement to celebrate the achievements of women and reaffirm our commitment to a world free of bias and stereotypes.

This year’s theme, #GiveToGain, reminds us that when we invest in women through support and opportunity, we all benefit. The Aquadome, we are proud to spotlight the incredible team members who are making waves and inspiring the next generation.

Meet Rhiannon

A passion for working with children and helping them grow through movement inspired Rhiannon to pursue a career as a swim instructor. She loves seeing confidence develop alongside skill, knowing she plays a part in helping students learn an essential life skill while feeling safe and supported in the water.

What inspired your career and what do you love about coaching?
"I’ve always been passionate about working with children and the positive impact movement can have on a child’s life. What really inspired me to become a swimming instructor was seeing how confidence grows alongside skill and how we can assist students in building such an important life skill.

What I love most about coaching our community are the relationships and seeing that impact. Watching someone go from nervous on day one to swimming independently is incredibly rewarding. Being part of their journey, even in a small way, is something I never take for granted."

What is your advice for women looking to build confidence in the pool?
"Start before you feel ready. Confidence doesn’t always come first, action does. Every strong, capable woman you see in the pool once had a ‘first day’ too. Take up space. Ask questions. Swim the lap. It’s about showing up for yourself consistently. The most powerful thing you can do is back yourself."

How do you stay motivated and prioritise your own wellbeing?
"For me, fitness helps me stay grounded and focused, whether that’s through dance, gymnastics, or swimming. Moving my body clears my mind and keeps me feeling strong both physically and mentally. I also prioritise surrounding myself with strong, positive women who motivate, support, and cheer me on."
