Congratulations to all the boot campers who completed the 8 weeks!
It was a hard slog at times to complete the challenging workouts week in week out, but it was extremely rewarding to see the progress every participant made towards their goals over the 8 weeks. We officially wrapped up the final sessions on the 2nd of December, finishing almost two months of varied and intense weekly training sessions with nearly 600 participants across the country.
We ran thirty-two sessions per week, which is over two hundred and fifty sessions across the country over the 8-week block. A variety of locations were used from ovals to parks and grassed areas within our facilities, as well as some last-minute wet weather substitutes! All proved to be equally effective for each week's workouts.
Our participants completed a fitness assessment on week one and week eight to see the improvement throughout the program. It was great to see that the majority of participants improved their fitness levels and made strength gains along the way. Reflecting on our initial ambitions for the program, we hoped to not only see our participants become physically stronger but also to see some impact on the team’s mental wellbeing and self-belief. This was clearly evident in the final fitness assessment with participants pushing beyond barriers they never knew they could.
Some of the favourite workouts from the 8 weeks included Military Poker and Ball Grab, whereas Burpee Hell (yes, the name says it all) was one of the toughest and most feared!
Well done to all those who completed the gruelling 8-week challenge! You certainly inspired the BlueFit team with your grit and determination, but mostly we hope you inspired yourselves! Keep it up!
We look forward to seeing you all again for next year’s bootcamp program!
