Aquadome Members Now Have Reciprocal Rights at JMC!

BlueFit is pleased to formally announce that we will commence management of group fitness, childminding and community gym operations at the John McVeity Centre (JMC) from Monday 11th January 2020.

Successful facilities are built by strong partnerships. We are excited at the prospect of cohabiting a community space at the JMC, centred on expanding the health and well-being of the Playford community.

It is appreciated that the members and users of both the Aquadome and JMC would have questions regarding these changes, so please find some information below or for the full details visit this page here.

The JMC community gym will operate on a slightly different philosophy to the Aquadome. Although catering for all age groups and fitness levels, the primary focus will be to
embrace more than just fitness.

BlueFit offers a range of programs to cater for the diverse communities we service and we look forward to increasing this offering within the Playford community.

Specific programs will be conducted in the gym to suit community needs; such as those with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, providing assistance for injury rehabilitation, older adult strength training, chronic disease management as well as working with those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

In conjunction with The Precinct, there will be an ongoing focus on health and wellbeing throughout the community; with further programs provided supporting at risk youth, young parents and families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

All direct debit members will have reciprocal rights access between the Aquadome and John McVeity Centre, further detail around membership has been provided below. Operating hours will be in conjunction with JMC opening hours; with the community gym staffed by qualified gym instructors between 8am – 11am Monday through to Saturday. Unsupervised gym access will only be available during JMC operational hours after a safety induction has been conducted by a friendly BlueFit staff member.

The current group fitness timetable has been reviewed and renewed; with any ‘YMCA owned’ programs replaced with similar BlueFit programs as well as the addition of Les Mills programs.
Our older, but active adults will continue to be supported with the retention of programs such as Strength for Life and Fit and Fab.
Over time BlueFit may implement enhancements to the current offer, and BlueFit will consult directly with members and users.

All bookings must be made through the BlueFit Health Club app under Aquadome with classes stating if they are held at either the Aquadome or JMC.

The BlueFit Health Club app is free and available to download both on Apple Store and Google Play.

For ongoing direct debit members, classes will be available to book 1 week before the scheduled time; and for our casual members classes will be available 3 hours before the scheduled class time via face to face booking. 

The crèche will be a complementary members only service and offered in line with the group fitness timetable, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 8am – 11am. 
After an enrolment form is completed, bookings for this service can be made in person or by contacting the Aquadome on 8287 8800.

Classes will be available to book via the BlueFit Health Club App. Once you’ve joined as a member you’ll receive a link to set up your mywellness account.

If you have downloaded the app but not joined, you will not be able to book classes but you can still view the timetable.
